“after the time machine breaks” is ametani’s second vocaloid cover album. It chronicles my feelings about leaving my home country for a year, and all of my emotions pertaining to going to a new and exciting place, and having new things to discover while also reflecting on all of the things I would miss while gone.
The album consists of 13 songs; 12 covers of vocaloid songs using vocal synths and one instrumental song compiled of songs from the “Wonderful Everyday: Down the Rabbit Hole” original soundtrack.
The title, “after the time machine breaks”, is a nod to one of my favorite albums of all time, 「タイムマシンが壊れる前に」by 溶けない名前. That album was a great inspiration to me to return to creating music in any capacity, and was something I revisited a lot while working on this project, and is still something I listen to often.
There are 13 songs on the album to represent the 13 hour time difference between my home country and where I moved to. Each song is dedicated to someone special in my life or represents a feeling I have carried with me for many years leading up to accomplishing this dream of mine.
The album also features music videos of some of the songs on my Youtube channel, featuring illustrations done by me. The lyrics of each song were also all hand-translated from Japanese to English by me.
