「翔絵瀧」(KAEROU) is ametani’s third cover album. This album is a direct sequel to “after the time machine breaks” which released just under a year ago. This album expands on the previous one, digging deeper into my feelings about my year spent in Japan. All of my anxieties about making new friends and not being good at Japanese, as well as all of the joy in discovering new places and culture while spending the most precious time of my life with some of the best people on Earth, these emotions are chronicled in my third finished work.
The 13 vocal songs and one instrumental song are meant to explore every aspect of my year abroad. The tearful goodbyes that seemed to never end, the incredible friends I made and all the travels, laughs, songs, and drinks we shared, the stressful lessons and tests we endured, the new discoveries I made about myself and what I’m capable of, and all of the new dreams I’ve found to carry with me into the future; they are all here within the music and the lyrics.
Additionally, the album is a reflection on what I’ve overcome to make it to where I am now. All of the hard work I have put in throughout my life has gotten me to this point, and although it is now coming to an end, I will never forget all that my efforts have taught me.
The album title is a reference to MyGO!!!!!, a band that has inspired me a lot throughout my time here. Their song titles utilize special readings of kanji to create a new word with some kind of interesting double meaning. 翔絵瀧, when read as “ka e rou”, spells out the Japanese word for returning home in its volitional form, 帰ろう (let’s go home). But the kanji themselves mean something more like “a soaring cascade of pictures” which is referenced by the heavy use of my very own photography throughout the album cover, reverse cover, and music videos.
The project will also consist of music videos with art done by the extremely talented Bronze Plates, whose Youtube channel I will link below. Each song has its own music video edited by me. There are also hand-translated lyrics for every song, helping to paint this soaring cascade for you regardless of whether you speak Japanese or English.

Above is the tracklist for the album. Each of these are cover songs, with a SynthV or CeVIO featured, with the exception of “I Lied Again”. This is an instrumental piano piece, consisting of a medley of songs from the “Your Lie in April” original soundtrack. Please look forward to each of these songs, as I have worked diligently to make sure they are all good enough to present.
The album will release at 5:00 PM JST on August 1st 2025. I hope you are excited to retrace my journey with me by your side this time.
